Gensco, a regional leader in sheet metal manufacturing, is looking for a self-motivated, trainable up and coming Production Scheduler/Safety Coordinator to join our Team at our new Manufacturing and Distribution Center in Salem, OR!  

  • Schedule - Monday-Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • Full Time - Starting pay range is $60,000-$75,000 annually based on experience

Summary

  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer service requirements and best utilize Columbia Manufacturing’s productive capacity
  • Coordinate all safety programs in Columbia Manufacturing to ensure the safety of all Team Members and regulation compliance
  • Production Scheduling - manage weekly production schedule and maintain product inventory database
  • Inventory - investigate and respond to all overstock and out of stock issues, coordinate all non-stock and special orders
  • Work collaboratively with Department Managers and Department Leads to ensure customer service levels for products are met and maintained
  • Safety Coordination - perform monthly safety meetings with the Safety Committee and entire Manufacturing department Team Members
  • Maintain lockout program and update it annually
  • Coordinate hearing conservation program annually
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs
  • Ensure all accident paperwork and procedures are being processed properly
  • Perform post-accident investigations for on-the-job injuries and recommend preventative solutions
  • Drive continual improvement of both safety program and results
    
 


 


 


  Education/Experience/Skills

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 2-4 years of related experience required
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple activities
  • Able to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
  • Strong use of analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Customer service-oriented approach, respond to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Willing to “think outside of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Able to operate computer terminal, calculator, and other office machines
  • Strong decision-making abilities, understand impact and implications of decisions
  • Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize and follow through
